About ACSPverify

ACSPverify is a UK-based identity verification platform designed specifically for accountants and Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs). We exist because the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) introduced strict new identity verification rules, but most firms don't need (or want) a full AML platform just to comply.

Why ACSPverify exists

With Companies House identity verification becoming mandatory from 18 November 2025, thousands of UK accountants now have to verify the identity of directors and PSCs before filing with Companies House. The required standard is more rigorous than many expected. A scanned passport or a video call isn't enough. The rules demand document authentication, biometric checks, liveness detection, and seven years of secure record-keeping.

For large firms with dedicated compliance teams and enterprise AML software, this was manageable. For small and mid-sized practices, it was frustrating. Buying a full AML platform felt like overkill when all they needed was a simple, reliable way to verify identities for Companies House filings.

That's why we built ACSPverify. We focus on one thing: helping UK accountants and ACSPs meet the Companies House identity verification standard without unnecessary complexity, cost, or overhead.

The problem we solve

Most accountancy practices don't have time to become identity verification experts. They need a tool that works, meets the standard, and doesn't require a dedicated compliance officer to manage.

Existing solutions fall into two categories: manual processes that don't meet the standard, or expensive AML platforms designed for banks and financial institutions. Neither option is ideal for a typical accountancy firm that incorporates a few dozen companies each year.

ACSPverify fills the gap. We provide Companies House-compliant identity verification on a pay-per-check basis. No subscriptions, no minimum commitments, no bloated feature sets you'll never use. You send a link to a director or PSC. They complete the check on their phone or computer. You get the results and the evidence you need to meet your obligations.

Who we serve

We serve UK accountants, company formation agents, corporate secretarial teams, and law firms who are registered (or plan to register) as Authorised Corporate Service Providers.

Our typical customers are small to mid-sized practices that don't want the cost and complexity of a full AML platform but need a reliable, compliant way to verify identities when they incorporate companies or file on behalf of clients.

We're not trying to replace your AML processes. We complement them. If you already have customer due diligence procedures, screening tools, or risk assessment frameworks, ACSPverify works alongside them. We just handle the specific identity verification checks required by Companies House.

Our approach to privacy and data protection

We take data protection seriously because we handle sensitive personal information—identity documents, selfies, and biometric data. We act as a data processor, which means you remain the data controller and stay in charge of compliance decisions.

We don't store biometric data indefinitely. Once a verification check is complete, you can download an evidence pack and store it according to your own retention policies. We minimise long-term storage and give you control over your own records.

We use established identity verification providers who meet industry standards for document authentication and fraud detection. Our infrastructure is hosted in the UK and EU, and we process data in line with UK GDPR.

We don't sell data, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it for purposes beyond identity verification. Your clients' information is handled securely and deleted when no longer needed.

Our focus on UK accountants and ACSPs

We built ACSPverify specifically for the UK market. We understand ECCTA, the ACSP regime, and the Companies House identity verification standard because that's what we designed the platform to address.

We're not a generic KYC tool adapted for accountants. We're purpose-built for UK firms who need to meet a specific regulatory requirement without over-engineering their compliance stack.

That focus means we can keep the platform simple, the pricing transparent, and the user experience straightforward. We don't add features just because other identity verification platforms have them. We add features when they help UK accountants meet their obligations more easily.

Our approach to compliance and technology

We believe compliance tools should be easy to use. ACSPverify is designed so that directors and PSCs can complete their identity checks without confusion, and so that accountants get clear, actionable results.

We handle the technical complexity—document verification, biometric matching, liveness detection, fraud screening—so you don't have to. But we don't hide what's happening. You get transparent results, confidence scores, and evidence packs you can review and store.

We also believe in flexibility. You're not locked into long-term contracts or forced to use proprietary storage systems. You pay per check, download your evidence, and manage your own records. If you decide ACSPverify isn't the right fit, you can stop using it without penalty.

What we're building

We're building a simple, reliable, UK-focused identity verification platform designed to meet current and upcoming identity verification standards set by Companies House for accountants and ACSPs. We're not trying to be an all-in-one compliance suite. We're trying to solve one problem well: making it easy to verify identities for Companies House filings.

As the ACSP regime evolves, we'll adapt to meet new requirements. If Companies House updates the identity verification standard, we'll update our processes. If accountants tell us they need additional features, we'll consider them. But we won't add complexity for the sake of it.

Our goal is to be the tool UK accountants trust when they need to verify a director or PSC quickly, compliantly, and without fuss.
